For
with such a worryingly cheesy Hardcore past, you have
to hand it to the man - well known for his ability to
continue everyday life with sunglasses on indoors -
to take a major turn and focus on "the darker side
of Hardcore". Once part of a two-man DJ team with
DJ Kam, we no longer hold that against him 7 years later
and welcome his unique sound to the PH Collective.
Also seen as part of the "PH Allstars" at
our Spectrum parties, either with Darkmain, or Frantic-X
(see below).

Cheet
is more oldskool than just about all of us put together,
but it's only been in the last 2 years that he has really
discovered some of the harder sounds that hugely popular
in Europe, but still very much under catered for in
little NZ.
Also heavily into his Gabber, Cheet can now open the
PH supports' eyes even woder, as him and DamNation can
show the huge range of different Hardcore available
all over the continent. Very well received at Requestline
II - keep an eye out for him.

For
someone who makes DJ Kam looks like the Incredible Hulk,
Darkmain certainly can pack a punch for his size. Resident
at the past few Yellow Brick Road all-age parties, as
well as guesting at numerous PH's throught the last
year, Darkmain is able (and usually does) play anything
from boring 160bpm "progressive" Hardcore
to full-on, even-DamNation-wouldn't-dare 220bpm Terrorcore.
Thankfully, we're armed with a police baton if the latter
creeps out any later than next Thursday, but expect
a range of diverse sounds from the pint-sized nutter.

Whilst
most of our regular guests have been banging out tunes
for a number of years (not just Hardcore, that is),
Dave aka Frantic-X has been one of the biggest breaths
of fresh air so far to our intimate Hardcore scene.
Having discovered the sound, listening to the music
and buying the records from his own pure love for the
sound, we urged him to keep cracking at the turntables
for the chance of proving his passion for Hardcore in
a club environment.
He has certainly not disappointed, and as well as two
Planet Hardcore, two Spectrum (under "PH Allstars")
and a Requestline under his belt, his technical precision
in the mix is but anything to be questioned about.

Renowned
for reducing most glowstick-waving ravers to tears,
DamNie has not been one to soften his sound to apease
the masses. With theintroduction of another part-time
Gabber DJ to the fold, Dammers can now concentrate on
experimenting a bit more with some of the more unusual
UK Hardcore that is becoming available, as well as remaining
loyal to the Dutch roots.
A respected producer and predominantly known for playing
Hardstyle & German Hard Trance, most things he lays
on the platter are usually not for the faint hearted!

Cheeky
Kam - when, not chasing a piece of skirt, is chasing
up the latest releases of the new sound of UK Hardcore.
Far beyond its cheddar-laiden nature of the past, Kam
likes to call his sound 'Swordcore', in respect of the
superb trancey sound from the stables of DFM, Raver
Baby and Evolution Records.
Equally as fond of his other prefered style (Tech &
Funky House), we're still trying to figure out how someone
can be so passionate about two such contrasting genres.
Beats us.

The
infamous Nick Collings himself. Yes, he did used to
play Hardcore - and to prove it, probably has more of
these records than most of us put together. Resurrecting
his roots and dusting off his old DJ name, the Scoobster
prides himself in playing many of the tunes he thinks
should have been (and should be) the classics - but
don't have the recognition they deserve.
Noted as the official Planet Hardcore bank, Scoob also
teams up with DamNation to produce varying styles of
other electronica.

Adam has now left the crew and is enjoying many long
sunny days in Brisbane instead. |
